What is incisional hernia?

An incisional hernia is a type of hernia occurring under the surgical incision in the patients being operated previously.  Abdominal wall weakens due to the damage of the muscles in the incision area and intra-abdominal organs begin to protrude from this compromised area. It is called incisional hernia. Incisional hernia is mostly seen following the open surgeries. Post-laparoscopic surgery risk is very low.
